Based out of San Francisco, Vietnamese-American multi-instrumentalist Jammaster Vu is a genre non-conforming artist who blends disco, funk, electro, jazz and pop to create catchy songs inspired by their favorite decade; the 1980’s. What started out as a challenge to write a song a day for the month of January in 2023 has turned into two albums of synthesizer-heavy danceable jams with no sign of stopping. Inspiration for their music is heavily drawn from memories of being a kid riding around in a Toyota Supra with uncles and aunts blasting Vietnamese New Wave music.
